2 more weeks!!

Yes, it was 2 more weeks until the production. In Mrs Gooch’s lesson we started to print of the posters in A3, and put them up around the school, and we did the same in lower school, as we reached the art room, one of the teachers found another error in the poster, it was the date. I put the wrong date in the poster, now this was driving everyone nuts, so they all went back and took down all the posters. By then it was lunch time, so we all went off and decided to carry on with the poster in Miss Taylor’s lesson. As we carried on with the poster, it took us the whole 2 periods to finish, and we also put the posters up around the school.

Wednesday 20th

At lunch time, Miss Mia came to me and told me, that Mrs Gooch would like the posters to be printed. So I missed period 5 and 6 and went to the media room and started printing. It was an exciting moment, as weeks of hard work for the poster was final finished. I showed Mrs Gooch as she was teaching her A-level class. She was positive and really excited, as she was analysing the poster she found a big Error. Eben’s head was cut off a bit; at this point I was so broken down, but I managed not to give up at this point so quickly. So it was back again in the media room, after hours of thinking and playing around with the tools in Adobe photo shop, I final figured out how to make Eben’s head look normal, and the poster was final appreciated by Mrs Gooch.

Drama & Media
In Mrs Gooch’s lesson I showed the poster which I created on Friday, she was excited and also impressed that the poster was progressing, however she was not to keen about the background and also the image of both of the main characters. So I and Faduma were editing the poster in Mrs Gooch and Miss Taylor’s lesson. We manage to find a picture of the main characters as well as the background, which Mrs Gooch found interesting, and we also added relevant information to the poster which was provide by Mrs Gooch.

Media lesson
Our group was looking forward to a positive and hardworking lesson; our groups tasks, was to create a new poster with all the information, which Mrs Gooch selected in our in individual posters. It was a challenging lesson but we did not complete the poster. Keeping in mind we only had around 3 weeks until the production, Mrs Gooch was desperate to have the posters up around the school. So I stayed after school on Friday, and realised that I did not have the poster which we started off in our media lesson. I started to panic for a moment, and then decided to start from scratch. It was not as difficult as I thought it would be, as the images and information were saved on the schools desktop.

Below is the poster that I created on Friday.

Drama- 12/01/10

Fantastic! One and only word that I can think of right now. We presented our poster to our teachers (Mrs Gooch and Mrs Ormond) in her lesson. She gave us feedback on both positive and constructive notes on how we can improve our posters. At the end she wanted us to create one poster together in our group, and include everybody’s ideas that Mrs Gooch selected in our individual posters.

These are the positive feedback from our teachers:

Akhilesh's one was good, due to the logo was placed in a good place.
Theyah's poster had an interesting font in her poster.
Ibu's poster was impressive due to the vivid image she used.
Fuduma's poster had a reasonable background.

These are the constructive feedback: The picture on Ibu's poster had red eye on the character Ellie, so Mrs Gooch did not appreciate as much. However it was better than the rest of ours.

Akhilesh's poster had a modern background for the west side story, so it was not appropriate. Mrs Gooch and some of the students thought it was not relevant, however Mrs Ormond thought it will look good due to the background is more city like, and looks like New York.

The poster had a picture of Ellie wearing a green t-shirt. Mrs Gouch was not impressed with this, due to the actress was not in her custom. So we stayed after school that day, and took pictures of both of the main performers.
Mrs Gooch also provided us with information, which we did not include in our posters.

The New Year has just begun, and I am very positive in what I’m doing. We finished our poster in the last lesson and everything is going on schedule. We are now planning our ideas that have inspired us to create our own West Side Story poster, which will be pretended to Mrs Gouch.

My group (which is the poster group) did not attend after school on Thursday the 17 of December. This was a major problem for us all, because this meant that we are delayed by another week. With the support with our Media teachers, we manage to finish of the poster finely today.
